Question:

I`m really new at this and have a lot of questions.  I want to know if there is a book or video for beginners. Where can I sign  up for classes?

Answer:

We do have a really wonderful Beginner DVD Series. Each DVD has been planned (the techniques in each project progressing into the next) so that when a student works through them in order, it’s similar to taking a week long workshop in my studio. (Each DVD can also be purchased separately.) https://wire-sculpture.com/jewelry-making-dvds-1.html

Beginners DVD Set

Wire-Sculpture and will also be conducting several workshops around the United States this year, you can find all of the details here:  https://www.wirejewelry.com/events/catalog/Jewelry_Making_Classes-5-1.html

Dale’s DVD’s are wonderful! It is like she is right there with you one on one. I highly recommend them. But, nothing beats taking a class with her live. She is full of so much excitement about wire jewelry and full of energy that she makes it a great class for any beginner on up. She doesn’t leave you hanging if you encounter a problem and is right there to show you the correct way to do a step.

I have been hand-crafting now for over 30 years, and making a full time living at it for over 20 years. For what is worth I can tell you that I believe http://www.wire-sculpture.com has some great resources and can be a one-stop solution for entry level wire jewelry makers. My advice to you (and every other new wire worker I meet) is go to http://www.wire-sculpture.com and look over their website from top to bottom, watch all their free streaming beginners tips videos, read all the blog entries and get familiar with the wealth of ideas and reference material they have accessible from their website. Then go invest in some of the Cougar’s instructional DVD’s, her new book, some practice wire, an assortment of beads and cabochons and go have a blast! The more you wire wrap, the more you will learn, and love it, and Dale is a very good teacher.
