I like your videos. How long of a piece of wire was used for the figure 8 piece? I’m hearing impaired and new to this. Thanks, Beetique
Beetique, she doesn’t mention how long, but it looks like it could be 1-2″ long.
This technique can be made using any gauge wire. the necessary length depends on the desired outcome. For a sample, experiment using an 18g, begin with 2-inches and cut off the remainder, making a note of the length of the remaining (what is cut off) wire for future applications.
Thanks for this video. Your wire is sooo shiny. I have Stirling silver wire but it is not shiny like ypurs. How do I make it shiny?
Thank you for such a great video-looks pretty simple! Would you harden these after making them, with a hammer or a tumbler? I’d prefer the hammer because I dont have a tumbler yet. Thanks for your suggestions, I look forward togetting them every day!
Hey Laura, you could simply ‘harden’ a component by using a rubber mallet or use a rawhide after sandwiching the component in a polishing cloth : )
