Anchor Chain

Anchor chain is an unusual jewelry chain, that can be fairly heavy and is a nice choice for men, as well as using as a component in jewelry. In anchor chain, each chain link looks like a jump ring with a bar through it. Both cable chain and anchor chain have been used to connect anchors to their ships. You may also find this called mariner chain. You may find these chain links rounded, like a cable chain, or flattened so all the links lie the same way, like a cable chain.

Infinity Chain

Infinity chains are somewhat similar to anchor chains, but rather than a separate bar running through the link, the link is made in a figure-8 or infinity shape, so the link is crossed diagonally. You can make this type of chain yourself – it’s often called an S-link connection in the wire jewelry world. Start with Mary Bailey’s Yin Yang Earrings base and use jump rings or chain lengths to connect the S-links!

You can see small Infinity Chain links between larger jump rings. These chain examples have been twisted slightly for a more interesting effect.
