Instructions
Step 1
Cut four 36" pieces of 22 gauge wire. Tightly twist two wires together. Repeat with the other wires.

Step 2
Wrap one twisted wire around an 1/8" mandrel. Keep the wraps close together. Hint: Start with a 3" wire tail. Wrap a few times with the long wire, then go back and wrap the short wire. Continue until all the wire is wrapped on the mandrel. Remove the coil and repeat with the other twisted wire. Trim off excess wires, making sure that the coils are the same length. Tuck the cut wire on each end of each coil into the coil (See Step 4).

Coil two 1" sections of 22 gauge wire on the smallest section of a 3-step pliers or on a bamboo skewer (which is smaller than the 1/8" mandrel).

Both ends of the 1" coils need to be tucked slightly into the coil with a chain nose pliers.

Step 5
Cut a 4" piece of 20 gauge wire (coiled bead core wire). Slide the coil on the wire, centering it. Place the bamboo skewer on the center of the coil.

Step 6
Pull the core wire up over and around the skewer, wrapping the coils around the skewer with it. Notice that the ends of the core wire gets shorter as the coil spreads out. The 1" of coil you are using will make two full coil wraps.

Step 7
Wrap the core wire ends around the skewer two times. Trim off any excess core wire. Push the wrap wires gently down close to and slightly into the coil. Use chain nose pliers to tuck the core wire ends in.

Straighten and cut an 8" piece of 18 gauge wire. Make a 3-4mm interior diameter (ID) eye on one end.

Slide the components on the 18 gauge wire in this order: Cone end cap; twisted coil; bead cap; Pandora-style bead with two 4mm beads inside; coiled bead; Pandora-style bead with two 4mm beads inside; coiled bead; Pandora-style bead with two 4mm beads inside; bead cap; twisted coil; cone end cap.

Step 10
Gently push the components together and measure the length from cone tip to cone tip. The following chart will help you make the right size bangle. The "length of bangle components" is the length from cone tip to cone tip. It does not include the eyes of the 18 gauge bangle core wire. When choosing the size you want, remember that the large beads you are using take up room on the wrist so you may want to go up one size. The eyes and hook add 1¼" to the bangle length.



7" = 5¾"

7¼" = 6"

7½" = 6¼"

7¾" = 6½"

8" = 6¾"
Step 11
Once you determine the length of bangle you want, figure the difference. For example, if you want a 7½"" finished bangle and the length of the components is 8¼", you will need to remove 2" in length according to the chart because the component length you need is 6¼". The amount you remove needs to be divided equally between the two twisted wire coils on the ends of the bangle. In other words, you need to remove 1" from each of the two twisted wire coils (save what you remove as you can use it for spacers in other bangles). Tuck the cut wire ends in as in Step 4.

Slide the components back on the 18 gauge bangle core wire. Gently push the component together.
Step 13
Make the same size eye on the remaining end as made in Step 8. Wrap the wire around the round nose pliers. Where the wires overlap, trim off excess wire.

Shape the bangle, making sure that the eyes will be perpendicular to the wrist.

Step 15:
Construct the hook
Straighten and cut a 4½" piece of 18 gauge round wire.
Step 16
On one end of the wire, make a slightly more than full circle with the tip of a round nose pliers. Hint: It may be easier to use a chain nose pliers to start the center of the spiral.

Using soft jaw pliers, tightly scroll the wire until the scroll is 2" from the end of the wire.

Place the tips of the round nose pliers as close to the scroll as possible, as shown. Bend the wire over the plier tips and up the side of the scroll.

Switch back to the soft jaw pliers and finish bending the wire up over the top of the scroll as shown.

Bend the wire tail around the ¼" mandrel as shown.

Step 21
Use the tip of round or chain nose pliers and make half a curl. Use flat nose pliers to press the curl flat down to the wire. Hammer the hook to strengthen it, if desired.

Step 22
Optional: Work harden the hook. Place the hook on a bench block. Hammer the curve of the hook and lower "v" portions to strengthen it.
Step 23
Slide the hook onto one eye. Hook the bangle closed. Make any adjustments necessary in the shape so that the bangle fits comfortably.
