This necklace was inspired by a picture of pelicans I took on Grand Lake, OK. Making your own chain is a wonderful skill to have in your tool kit. Change the color or gauge of wire and you have an entirely different look. This chain is quick and simple. Use a two tone pallet like I did or use a dozen colors for a fun variety. This chain also looks great without a focal and is very lightweight so you could layer more than one chain easily.

Instructions
Step 1
Using the 12g wire directly from the spool, wrap one wire end around the square Wubbers medium pliers jaw (the smaller one) 10-12 times. Repeat these steps for the other wire spool/color using the square Wubbers small pliers.

Step 2
Remove the coil from the jaw and compress by squishing it with your fingers. Using a flush cutter, cut down the middle of all the wraps one at a time to get a nice, clean cut.

Step 3
Using the texture hammer and block, gently hammer each jump ring. Reshape if needed to square up the jump ring.

Step 4
Gently open a pink jump ring and insert 2 gold jump rings. Add another pink jump ring to the end and repeat this until you have your desired length. I made my necklace long enough to fit over my head so I don't need to attach a clasp.

Step 5
Connect both necklace ends to your focal using a large jump ring.
