Easy Agate Anklet

Designed by Dale "Cougar" Armstrong

Skill Level: Beginner/Intermediate

Technique: Wrapping Loop and Link Components

Anklets are always in style, especially during the summer months. Here is a quick and easy design to fuel your imagination.

Materials

  • Wire: Length of chosen bead design + 1½" (good place to use wire scraps!)
  • Bead combination: 1 to 2½" that will fit the chosen wire (or visa versa)
  • 1 trigger or lobster claw clasp
  • 1 1½" headpin
  • Chain: Distance around ankle + ½" - length of bead combination = *total length of chain needed.

Formula: if the ankle measurement is 9½", and the bead combo is 2½" long: (9½ + ½) - 2½ = 7½" of chain.

Tools

Instructions

  1. Put together a bead combination and measure its length. Add 1½" to this number and cut a piece of wire the same total length. From one end of the wire, measure down 3/4" and mark. Use chain nose and round nose pliers at this 3/4" mark to begin a wrapped loop. After beginning the loop, add the chosen bead combination to the wire and begin another loop at the opposite end of the wire, about 1½mm after the last bead.
