Designed by Dale "Cougar" Armstrong

Anklets are always in style, especially during the summer months. Here is a quick and easy design to fuel your imagination. For more anklet ideas, I invite you to read Cool Anklets are Hot!

Skill Level - Beginner/Intermediate

materials

  • Wire: Length of chosen bead design + 1 1/2 inches (good place to use wire scraps!)
  • Bead combination: 1 to 2 1/2 inches that will fit the chosen wire (or visa versa)
  • 1ea. trigger or lobster claw clasp
  • 1ea. 1 1/2 inch headpin
  • Chain: Distance around ankle + 1/2 inch - length of bead combination = *total length of chain needed.

*Example, if the ankle measurement is 9.5 inches, and the bead combo is 2 1/2 inches long: (9 1/2 + 1/2) - 2 1/2 = 7 1/2 inches of chain.

instructions

  1. Put together a bead combination and measure its length. Add 1 1/2 inches to this number and cut a piece of wire the same total length. From one end of the wire, measure down 3/4 inch and mark. Use chain nose and round nose pliers at this 3/4 inch mark to begin a wrapped loop. After beginning the loop, add the chosen bead combination to the wire and begin another loop at the opposite end of the wire, about 1.5mm after the last bead.
