I made these quick earrings one afternoon to wear to a family get-together. Sometimes we need something simple and fun, if for no other reason than for the pleasure it brings us. They were a big hit!
**Tip: Make both earrings at the same time, working one step on one earring and then the same step on the other.
For each earring clean, straighten, measure, and cut one 4¼”, one 3¼” and one 2¾” pieces of 22-gauge wire.
Place the tip of needle-nose pliers on the very end of a wire and make a small loop rolling down the wire. This is the eye.
Place the needle-nose pliers on the backside of the wire and the inside of the eye and bend slightly backward so the eye is at a 90-degree angle to the rest of the wire. Repeat steps 2 and 3 with remaining wires.
Mark each wire ½” from bottom of eye. Place chain-nose pliers on ½” mark and bend wire to form a 90-degree angle.
Mark each wire 3/16” from opposite end of wire.
Take longest wire, beginning at end with 3/16” mark and wrap wire around ring mandrel at size 13. Stop at 90-degree angle. Adjust with fingers if needed. Add beads; 2.5mm, 3mm and 2.5mm beads.
Take middle wire, beginning at end with 3/16” mark and wrap wire around ring mandrel at size 5. Stop at 90-degree angle. Adjust with fingers if needed. Add 2-2.5 mm beads.
Take short wire, beginning at end with 3/16” mark and wrap wire around ring mandrel at size 1. Stop at 90-degree angle. Adjust with fingers if needed. Add a 2.5 bead.
Grasp circle end of wire with chain-nose pliers at 3/16” mark and bend back to form a hook. Close circle letting hook catch at 90-degrees and close. Repeat with each dangle.
Grasp eye of shortest dangle with chain-nose pliers and bend slightly back. Repeat with mid-length dangle so they will hang flat.
Hang dangle on jump ring and attach ear wire.
