We’re planning to have the best Tucson gem show classes in town! Plan your 2015 Tucson trip around taking a class – or a few! – at the JewelryTools.com Jewelry Classes at JOGS this February.

We are getting closer to our classes, so we are going to begin highlighting several instructors at one time. Today we feature our three NEWEST instructors:

Featured Instructor: Debora Mauser

Debora Mauser

Mostly self-taught, Debora Mauser has been making jewelry for more than ten years and teaching at national venues for 7 years. Her schedule includes Bead Fest, Bead & Button, William Holland School of Lapidary Arts, Wild Acres and Sawtooth School.

Her passion is sharing techniques including wire, metal, enameling, forming and cold connections. She is a certified instructor in the Paint with Fire immersion method of enameling. Debora’s classes are packed with information but maintain a low-key approach to learning.

Jackie is the President and owner of Art Clay World USA, which is the distributor for Art Clay Silver and Copper in the US and Canada. She is a certified Master Instructor and has been working in Art Clay silver for 14 years. She is also a lapidary, glass artist, and is a certified GIA graduate gemologist. Jackie has written 3 books, 2 about metal clay, “Art Clay Silver: 18 projects to make in a day,” and “Metal Clay, the Complete Guide.,” and one about dichroic glass, “Dichroics: Art Glass All Dressed Up. Jackie’s passion may be Art Clay, but her mission is to empower women through its use. She is determined to provide an opportunity for women to establish a place for themselves in the high-end art arena with a minimum investment and a maximum return both financially and creatively.

I’m a newbie at this jewelry making stuff and I do Diochroic Glass Fusion Cabochons. I need to know any tips about “gluing” my glass Cabachons to a Sterling Silver Engravable Disc with slider. I want to center to Cabochon in order to show the Sterling around the edges. What is best plan of action for this? Thanks

Does any of the artist at the show tape the classes at Tuscon? Are they selling them to people who can’t come down? I would possibly be interested in buying some.
